In detail:
With almost 30 years’ experience advising government and financial services institutions on transformation, Graeme brings a proven track record of solving big, complex challenges with calm determination and bold thinking. Having built Baringa’s Government practice, he now leads the global financial services business across the UK, US and Australia – a natural next step in a career defined by trusted leadership, impactful partnerships, and tech-led change.
Client delivery is part of Graeme’s DNA. He’s spent decades helping governments tackle everything from trade upheaval and border and immigration restrictions to the pandemic’s perfect storm of a public health crisis. He’s also advised some of the world’s largest banks and insurers on major technology transformations.
Baringa’s financial services practice has been helping clients since 2007 and in his new role, he is excited to bring his passion for systemic change to a sector that is under intense pressure to reinvent itself. With the emergence of generative AI, rising regulatory scrutiny, and ever-shifting customer expectations, financial services firms are at a crossroads. The future belongs to those who embrace agility, collaboration, and innovation – all of which sit at the heart of Baringa’s offer.
Graeme believes firmly that the right people bring the energy to get things done. He assembles robust, resilient teams blending skills, experience, and personalities. It’s never just about delivering; it’s about making the process interesting and fun for all involved. Personable, passionate and known for his calm head, wise counsel and sound values, Graeme has built close relationships with key decision makers throughout his career. He’s particularly proud of how his team helped to shape the UK’s pandemic response – rolling out Test and Trace and vaccines – ultimately saving many lives, opening borders, and keeping trade flowing.
Graeme has been happily married for 20 years and has three children, each rapidly progressing through university. Happy to be a stereotypical MAMIL (Middle Aged Man in Lycra), his natural habitats are the lanes of Hertfordshire, either in trainers or on wheels, and occasionally with his trusty Labrador. Graeme is an active ambassador for UK Youth for 12 years, the largest youth charity in the country.
